I was born and raised in the Parish of Portland which is located in the north east of my homeland Jamaica. I have been residing in the USA for over 20 years now and as I continue to mature in age I frequently reflect on the 'good old days' growing up in JA.

Life was so simple back then and living so easy. Take a mini trip with me back to JA and let us all lose ourselves in memories of living the simple life!

Who can remember when after school classes were 'lessons' and you had to pay for the whole week on Monday. But do you remember that the week of lessons did not include Fridays? In any case who wanted to go to any lessons on a Friday when you could be playing dandy shandy with your ball made out of an orange juice box, stuffed with paper and perhaps a rubber band around it to help secure it.

As it was presented then, CARICOM aimed at the eventual integration of its members, economies and the creation of a common market. The community from its inception has concentrated on promoting the integration of the economies of member states, coordinating the foreign policies of the independent member states and in functional cooperation especially in relation to various areas of social and human endeavors.
