We are the people of the Caribbean the descendants of slaves and free people. In every occupation we have excelled as a people. We are nurse’s aides, nurses, doctors, pharmacists and administrators. We are legal aids, lawyers, mayors, governors and presidents (of countries and companies). Computer techs, engineers (logistics, civil, mechanical & electrical), we are the people of the Caribbean. We are astute businessmen and women. We are teachers, preachers, deacons, ushers, choir members, police, soldiers, volunteer workers and prolific writers. We are chefs, athletes, entertainers, Scientists, and pilots.

Despite challenges we have shown a resiliency and capacity to change and adapt to our environment with an unbending spirit. After each step, each success, we pause and take a deep breathe and aim even higher. We are vibrant and energetic; we are a phenomenon indicative of our rich culture and heritage. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson “we go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” This is WeKarib!
